Goeke, Dr. John Christian, Sr. fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Friday, May 24, 2013. Beloved husband of Jane F. Goeke (nee Downey) for 52 years; dearest father of John Christian Jr. Chris (Ellie) Goeke, James Jaimie Goeke, Becky (Matt) Giegling and Jennifer (Todd) Meyer; loving Papa of John Christian III Jack, Nicholas Goeke, Joshua, Madelyn, Lucas and Michael Giegling, Ray, Cameron, Isabella and Joseph Meyer and the late Megan Goeke; dear brother of June (Harold) Axness and the late Joseph (Jackie), Don (survived by Mary) and Rose Marie Peachy Goeke; survived by his companion Nemo; our dear uncle, cousin and friend. John was a Professor of Social Work at St. Louis University for 33 years and a family therapist with St. Louis County Mental Health. He had a great zest for life and loved music, good food, soccer, trout fishing, travel and shooting pool with his buddies. John always had a smile and a kind word to say. He maintained his fun loving, faith filled, positive outlook throughout his life. Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Wednesday, May 29, 9:30 a.m. to Mary, Mother of the Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Make-A-Wish or St. Vincent DePaul Society of Mary Mother. Visitation Tuesday, 3-8 p.m.
