Most Reverend Emil A. Wcela died on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Ordained a priest of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, NY, on June 2, 1956. Ordained auxiliary bishop on December 13, 1988. Served as an Associate Pastor at the Parish of Maria Regina, Seaford, as Pastor of the Parish of Saint Joseph, Garden City, Pastor at the Church of the Resurrection, Farmingville, as Faculty at St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary, Uniondale and Faculty and Rector at the Immaculate Conception Seminary, Huntington.As auxiliary bishop, Bishop Wcela was the Vicar for the Eastern Vicariate of the diocese until his retirement in 2007.
