John Murphy, of Thorofare, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2015.
A loving, generous and kind man, John devoted his life to his family. John was selfless and independent and was always willing to help and counsel others. He was a very intelligent man with a witty sense of humor. John spent several years as an ordained priest before retiring as president of Tri County Appliance Service. In his free time he enjoyed golf, playing cards, billiards, piano and the Philadelphia Flyers. John volunteered on the Management Assistance Resource Team and on the Human Services Advisory Council of Gloucester County for over 20 years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Beloved husband to the late Shawn (neeĢ McCoog); cherished father of Colleen (Luke Williams), Casey (Joseph Tingle) and Kelsey; dear son to the late Francis and Vera Murphy; loving brother of Kathy, Joe, Nancy, Eileen, Frank, Teresa, Kevin, Maureen, and Tricia; son-in-law to Jim and Terri McCoog; Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends are welcome to John’s Viewing on Saturday Morning from 8:30 AM – 10:15 AM at the Infant Jesus Parish at St. Margaret’s Church, 3rd and Beech Streets, Woodbury Heights, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 AM. Interment New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
