Diocese: JEFFERSON CITY

Seminary Graduation Year: 1964

Wiesmann, Robert J. Bob Age 74, fortified with the Sacraments of the Roman Catholic Church, Saturday, September 18, 2010. Beloved husband and best friend of Judith (Conlon) Wiesmann; loving father of Tamara Wiesmann. Bob received a Licentiate degree from the Gregorian University, Rome, Italy, engaged in Ph.D studies at the University of Missouri, and graduated with highest honors from Auburn. He was a graduate Fellow at the University of Missouri and received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to teach at Tuskegee Institute University, where he specialized in advanced logic and philosophy of language. He was a CPA, and in addition to the private sector, worked for over twenty years for various agencies of the U.S. Government. For the last eight years of his working career, he served in the federal sector as President of the American Federation of Government Employees Local #3529. He was a man of deep and diverse interests, as at home in the arts, history, and sports, as in the rough and tumble world of politics and labor law. While steeped in the classical world of the great books, he remained current through reading daily news reports from a variety of cities, both domestic and foreign. While at home he enjoyed discussing American and world politics, watching classic movies, reading, listening to music, gardening, and gourmet food preparation. In spite of this large variety of domestic interests, he had wanderlust and was widely traveled in Europe, China, and the U.S. He enjoyed all these pursuits with his wife and best friend Judy, with whom he engaged in almost constant dialogue concerning the aspirations, successes, foibles, and occasional downfall of the players on life’s stage. He was truly a man for all seasons. Services: Funeral procession from HUTCHENS Mortuary, 675 Graham Rd., Florissant, MO. on Saturday, September 25, 9:00 a.m. to St. Richard Catholic Church, (Creve Coeur), for 10:00 a.m. Mass.
