Timothy Tlucek died on September 1, 2020. For 72 years, Timothy Tlucek lived wholeheartedly in pursuit of what he dearly loved . . . his family and friends, his music, and the outdoors. Throughout his life, especially in his brave battle against cancer, his determination outweighed the struggles he faced. Tim passed away on Tuesday, September 1st, 2020.

He was born in Houston on April 27th, 1948 and graduated from both St. Thomas High School and St. Thomas University where he also attended seminary. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force at Bergstrom Air Force Base during Vietnam. After the war, his career focused on computer programming/analyzing for the city of Austin. He then moved back to Houston to work for Gulf Oil, he owned his own small business, PC Assist, worked for EDS, and ultimately retired from Hewlett Packard.

Tim excelled in his computer career, but his family and friends will remember his music most. He was a singer/songwriter, recording two albums with his band including, “A Gust of Wind,” while in seminary. He was a music minister in the Air Force and at Notre Dame Catholic Church, served as the Director of Music at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, and served as the Choir Director at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville, TX. He also loved singing with the Austin County Civic Chorale. Family and friends will tell you his music career includes playing at their weddings as well as countless nights of entertainment with folk songs by Peter, Paul, and Mary.

Tim is survived by his wife of 17 years, Roberta “Bobbie” Tlucek; son, Christopher Tlucek and his wife, Luey Kliner; daughter, Jennifer Armstrong, and her husband, Michael Armstrong; daughter, Karin Lopez, and her husband, Matthew Lopez; Bobbie’s children: son, Brant North and his wife, Janet; daughter, Kimberly Chovanec and husband, Brian; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Stephanie, Matthew, and Nathaniel Tlucek; Nolan, Lori, and West Armstrong; Ryan and Austin Lopez; Jeremy and wife Haley Fuentes; Mitchell and Taylor North; great-grandchild, Danica Fuentes; sister Cynthia and her husband, Bill Goerig, sister Melicent Bryarly, and many nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anne Tlucek, and sister, Hyacinthe Tlucek.
