Rev. Fr. Albert Bitangjol Age 82, passed away peacefully, May 8, 2011. Born to Ciriaco and Aurora (Petilla) Bitangjol in Leyte, PH. He is survived by his younger sister, Sr. Ma. Auxencia Bitangjol, RVM of Elk Grove, CA. Fr. Bitangjol studied at Sacred Heart Seminary in Leyte. PH and was ordained priest on March 17, 1956 for the Diocese of Palo, Leyte. He served for three years as secretary to the Archbishop of Zamboanga in Mindanao, PH. In 1969, he began a full-time coursework in business and in television and computer technologies in SF Archdiocese. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he started his ministry as an associate at Mater Dolorosa Church and then transferred to St. Agnes Church, SF in 1971. Father was appointed to St. Cecilia, SF in 1972. He was incardinated into the Archdiocese of SF on Nov. 5, 1976 and continued his service at St. Cecilia until 1979 thence was assigned to St. Patrick, SF. In January 1989, he began as an associate at St. Anselm Church in San Anselmo, followed by an assignment at St. Thomas More, SF. He retired October 18, 1998. Friends and family may visit Wednesday and Thursday, May 11th and 12th, from 4:00 – 9:00 pm and are invited to attend the Vigil Service on Thursday at 7:00 pm and to the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, May 13th, 11:00 am ALL at St. Andrew’s Church, 1571, Southgate Ave., Daly City.
