KURAS REV. ALEXANDER A. passed on from this life on July 1, 2013 at the age 70. Father Kuras was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 7, 1969. Father Kuras’ assignments included serving as associate pastor at St. James Parish, Ferndale and Holy Name Parish, Birmingham. In addition Father Kuras served as pastor at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Waterford, and Divine Savior Parish, Westland. Father Kuras was predeceased by his parents Max and Anastasia and brother Daniel. He is survived by his aunts Helen Polanski and Rose Kuras, and nephews Craig, Dan, Kevin and many cousins. Visitation Sunday 2-8 p.m. with a Vigil at 6 p.m. at Divine Savior Parish Church, 39375 Joy Rd., Westland. Father Kuras will lie in repose on Monday July 8 at Divine Savior Parish Church, from 10:30 a.m. until the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.. Interment at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, 18303 Allen Road, Brownstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the church of the Divine Savior.
