Rev. Charles J. Hoffer found peace when he was camping and hiking in the great outdoors.
He spent weeks at a time in national parks out west, hiking, mountain climbing and taking pictures, said his nephew, Bill Hoffer, of Edgewood.
“During the summer on his vacation, he’d go out west to Yellowstone and he’d camp at Yellowstone and do the hiking,” he said.
Rev. Hoffer, of Fort Thomas, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas. He was 81.
He was an avid photographer who taught photography at Thomas More College. He specifically enjoyed taking pictures of outdoor scenes.
“It’s unbelievable all the pictures he would take,” his nephew said.
