GENTILE, T.O.R., VERY REV. EMILE, 75, died on November 10, 2011 at New Smyrna Beach, FL. He was born on September 24, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Louis and Mildred (Trochiano) Gentile. He entered the Novitiate of the Third Order Regular of St. Francis on June 21, 1955, and professed vows on June 23, 1956. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1964. Fr. Emile served as Minister Provincial and as Novice Master in his Franciscan Community and served the Diocese of Orlando from 1983 in various ministries until he retired as Pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish in Mount Dora in 2007. He was awarded the Pro Ecclesia Pontifice Medal for his faithful service to the Church by Pope John Paul II. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora, FL with a Vigil Service taking place at 6 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mount Dora, FL with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in the Franciscan Community Cemetery in Hollidaysburg, PA.
