Frank Delano Mintjal, 83, died August 6, 2016. He was born July 12, 1933 to Frank Denis Mintjal and Frances Barbara (Roshak) Mintjal in Oak Park, IL. Del retired as a Captain in the Navy after 24 years of service to his country. He served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. He also was highly educated with a doctorate in Theology. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Martha L. Rovnak; stepchildren, Christopher (Diana) Rovnak, Amy Rovnak and Jeffrey (Amanda) Rovnak; and grandchildren, Austin, Alina, Jason, Aaron, Benjamin and Anna. He also leaves behind brothers, J. Donald (Billie-Jane) of AZ, David (Terri) of IL; sister, Diana (David) Juckett of FL; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Delores (George) Westlund.

Visitation will be held 9:30 -10:30am Friday, August 12, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Fu¬neral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 520 West Holding Avenue, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Interment will be in Palm Beach, FL.

The family requests donations in Del’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the National Kidney Foundation.
