Rev. James P. Challancin

ISHPEMING, Mich. – The Rev. Fr. James P. Challancin, age 71, beloved pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming, enter eternal life on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at his home while in the loving care of UP Home Health & Hospice, friends and parishioners.

Fr. Jim will be received at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming where visitation will be held until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 8, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Archbishop Alexander K. Sample as celebrant and priests of the Diocese of Marquette to concelebrate.

At Fathers request no flowers, he wishes donations be made for the primary schools around the Peramiho Mission in Tanzania, East Africa. Benedictine Mission House, Christ the King Priory, PO Box 528, Schuyler NB 68661-0528.
