BARKER, FATHER JOHN A., “FR. JACK,” 70, of Louisville, passed away Monday, September 20, 2004.

He was a Roman Catholic priest and had most recently served at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. He attended St. Xavier High School in Louisville and St. Mary’s College High School in St. Mary’s, KY. He also attended North American College in Rome, Italy, and attended classes at The Gregorian University. He attended Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, and was ordained into the priesthood at North American College on December 20, 1959.

Survivors include his mother, two sisters, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2004, at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 3042 Hike Lane, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Thursday and noon-9 p.m. Friday at Bosse Funeral Home, Barret and Ellison Avenues, and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorial gifts in memory of Fr. Jack may go to St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
