On Sunday, August 18,  2024 Fr. John L. Holleman passed away peacefully at his home at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. After retiring in 2016, Fr. Holleman moved to Gulf Shores, where he became a cherished member of the OLG Parish family. He frequently celebrated Mass, giving Fr. Carucci a much-needed break. Fr. Holleman had a deep passion for teaching and loved sharing stories about his adventures as a pilot in Alaska and his experiences running marathons in Rome. Despite his declining health in recent years, he remained a valuable part of the parish and continued to minister to those he encountered. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his loyal dogs, Kylie and Spunky, whom he loved dearly.
