Rev. John W. Rebel died unexpectedly, on Sunday, March 17, 2013. Beloved son of the late Howard A. and Catherine (Cronin) Rebel; loving brother of Michael F. (Kathy) Rebel, Mary C. (Alan) Brody, and the late Joseph, Timothy, and Howard A. Rebel, Jr. Survived also by many nieces and nephews. Father John’s assignments were as follows: St. Bernard Parish, Pittsburgh, PA, St. Veronica Parish, Ambridge, PA, St. Joseph Parish, Verona, PA, St. Michael Parish, Elizabeth, PA, Assumption Parish, Bellevue, PA, St. Margaret Mary Parish, Moon Twp., PA, St. Anselm Parish, Pittsburgh, PA, St. Kilian Parish, Mars, PA, St. Bartholomew Parish, Pittsburgh, PA, and St. James the Apostle Parish, Pulaski, PA. Friends may call Tuesday 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday 12-4 p.m. at O’BRIEN’S, 3724 California at Cooper Aves., N.S. Reception of the body and Vesper Service Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Risen Lord Church. Mass of Christian Burial in Risen Lord Church Thursday, 11 a.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to either St. Cyril of Alexandria Campaign for Progress, or American Heart Assoc.
