John P. Wagner January 13, 2020 John P. Wagner born September 20, 1937, passed away at Francis House on January 13th. John was the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth Wagner. He was a graduate of St John the Baptist Academy, Niagara University, Gregorian University Rome Italy, Syracuse University and SUNY Albany. John was ordained a Roman Catholic priest July 15, 1962 in the Basilica of the Twelve Apostles, Rome Italy. In addition to serving as an associate pastor at Our Lady of Pompei Parish, Most Holy Rosary, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, he was also a Professor of Dogmatic Theology for two years at St Bernard’s Seminary in Rochester, NY. For 25 years, he was tenured Professor/Counselor at Onondaga Community College retiring in 1994. For 18 years, he was also an Adjunct Instructor in the Religious Studies Department at Lemoyne College. In 1996, John was appointed Pastor of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Baldwinsville where he remained until retiring in 2005. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, Edward and is survived by his sister, Sally Boyd of Poinciana, Florida and brother, Paul Wagner of Ooltewah, Tennessee. Per John’s final wishes, services and burial were private.
