Fr. Kenneth L. Marchulones, 82, of Peoria, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 in Peoria. Kenneth was born February 24, 1940 in Peoria to John and Marie (Stenger) Marchulones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother,William Marchulones and a niece, Kathy Marchulones.  Surviving are his two siblings, Joseph (Diann) Marchulones of Metamora and Mary (Don) Polson of Arizona; seven nieces and nephews, Chris Marchulones, Jamie (Matt) Hallam, Brian (Heather) Marchulones, Stacey (Damien) Bessert, David (Sara) Marchulones, Tim (Leigh) Polson, and Shelley (Ric) Reyna; and a sister-in-law, Judy Marchulones.

Ken attended seminary school in St. Paul Minnesota where he graduated in 1965. He was ordained on May 23, 1965 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria. Following his ordination Father Ken was first assigned to St. Mary’s in Westville and later continued his service as Principle of Bergan High School in Peoria. In 1984 he was named as Pastor at St. Monica Church, where he found his home and eventually retired in 2010.

In his retirement Father Ken enjoyed traveling and was able to tour and visit much of the world. In addition to his love of travel, Father Ken was also a licensed small aircraft pilot.

A visitation will be on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 5 to 7 pm at St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Church. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
