Reverend Monsignor Daniel J. Trapp, Archdiocese of Detroit, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at Beaumont Hospital after a brief illness. He was 66 years old. Msgr. Trapp has worked as pastor in many Detroit parishes, and was a faculty member at Sacred Heart Major Seminary for 35 years.

Msgr. Trapp will lie in state on Thursday, Feb. 1st, from 3pm to 8pm at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, 2701 W. Chicago, Detroit. Visitation will take place on Friday, Feb. 2nd, from 4pm – 7pm at St. Augustine St. Monica Roman Catholic Church, 4151 Seminole Street, Detroit. He will lie in state on Saturday, Feb. 3rd from 11:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass, 1:00pm, at Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 9844 Woodward Ave., Detroit. The committal service will immediately follow the Mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
