Reverend Monsignor Donald F. Hellmann P.A., 86, entered eternal life on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Madonna Manor in Villa Hills, KY. Msgr. Hellmann was created a monsignor by Pope Paul VI in 1970 with the rank of Honory Prelate, he was Pastor of St. Augustine Parish in Covington, KY (1987-1992) and Pastor of St. Agnes Parish in Ft. Wright, KY (1992-1999), in 2005 he was honored by Pope Saint John Paul II being elevated to the rank of Protonaotary Apostolic Supranumery. Msgr. Hellmann also served the entire Diocese with his work in the Tribunal and Chancery Offices; and he also served as the Diocesan Administrator (July 1995-March 1996). He will be dearly missed by numerous nieces and nephews, his sister-in-law Mary Therese Hellmann of Phoenix, AR as well as his brother priests and the faithful of the Diocese of Covington. First visitation will be held at St. Agnes Church in Ft. Wright, KY on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 from 4:00PM to 7:00PM followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM. Second visitation will be held at St. Agnes Church on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM with the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM; interment to follow at St. Pius X Priests’ Cemetery in Erlanger, KY. Memorial donations in honor of Msgr. Hellmann may be made to Covington Latin School, 21 E. 11th Street, Covington, KY 41011.
