BRESLIN, Rev. Monsignor Lawrence K 75, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at St. Leonard Health & Rehab Center.

He was born in Cincinnati on October 25, 1932. Monsignor was preceded in death by his parents Leo J. and Margaret Mary (McDevitt) Breslin, Brothers Leo J. (Marian) and John H. Breslin. He is survived by his brother James & Mary Ann Breslin of Virginia and their children: Jim (Janet) and their 3 children of Virginia; Patty Singer (Bob) and their 2 children of Maryland; Kathy Malley (Ross) and their 3 children of Virginia; Mike (Mary) and their 4 children of Virginia; Maureen Romano (Mark) and their 2 children of Virginia, Tim (Kathy) and their 4 children of Virginia. Also survived by Leo and Marian Breslin’s children: Kevin (Pamela) of Cincinnati; Dan (Cheryl) and their 2 children of Massachusetts; Meg Muething (Steve) and their 4 children of Cincinnati; Beth Stachura (Fred) and their 3 children of Rhode Island; Cadi Bien (Jim) and their 3 children of Indiana; Patrick (Carolyn) and their 1 child of Washington D.C.; Chrissy Schroeder (Kyle) and their 2 children of Cincinnati.

Monsignor was ordained to the priesthood in Rome, Italy on July 14, 1957. His first assignment in 1958 was at St. Agnes, Cincinnati and faculty of Purcell High School; in 1962 he joined the faculty at Alter High School and was Assistant at St. Charles Borromeo, Kettering; in 1968 he went to the North American College in Rome as the Vice-Rector; in 1974 he became Pastor at St. Bartholomew, Cincinnati; in 1978 he was President/Rector of The Athenaeum of Ohio, Cincinnati; in 1984 he became Pastor St. Vivian, Cincinnati; from 1986-2004 he was Pastor at St. Charles Borromeo, Kettering; during that time from 1991-1998 he was Dean of the Dayton Deanery; Msgr. retired in 2004. During retirement he served as part-time Chaplin at St. Leonard Bernardin Hall Retirement Community.

Reception of Msgr. Breslin’s body and prayer service at 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 4th at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Kettering. Visitation will follow at the church immediately following the prayer service until 7:00 pm Sunday, and again on Monday, May 5th, from 10:00 am until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Kettering. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to The Athenaeum of Ohio or to the St. Charles Memorial Fund
