The Rev. Monsignor Robert J. Sennott, an eminent figure in the affairs of the archdiocese for almost 50 years, died Saturday in St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. He was 88.
A native of Charlestown, Monsignor Sennott amassed several degrees as a student. He studied for the priesthood at St. John's Seminary in Brighton, received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Northeastern University, a bachelor's degree in sacred theology from the Gregorian University in Rome, a licentiate in sacred theology from Catholic University in Washington, and a doctorate in sacred theology from Laval University in Quebec.
