The Rev. Paul Thomas Rindos, of Harrisburg, formerly of Mount Joy, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was 77 years old.

Father Paul was born in Shamokin, a son of the late Jacob B. and Louise Carpentier Rindos.

Father Paul was ordained a priest March 14, 1959, by Bishop George L. Leech for service in the diocese of Harrisburg.

In his 52 years of service to that diocese, Father Paul served in both parochial and educational ministries. He was pastor of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Bonneauville, for 23 years and was the founding pastor of Mary Mother of the Church Parish, Mount Joy, serving there until 2008 when he retired from active ministry.

Father Paul spent his last years at the priest retirement center in Harrisburg.

He is survived by his sister, Maryann Lucchetti, wife of Louis Lucchetti, of Allentown; his uncle, Gerald Carpentier, of Middletown; nieces and nephews and several cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, 599 W. Center St., Elysburg. A visitation will be held before Mass from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Final Commendation and Farewell will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap, immediately following the Mass.
