REV. PAUL J. SCIARROTTA age 81, died peacefully on November 25, 2017, at Altercare at St. Joseph Center. Devoted son of the late Charles and Jennie (nee Indelicato); brother of Joseph, M.D. (wife Janet) and his late twin Rev. Lee, S.M.; dear uncle of John Charles “Jay” (wife Jeanette), Joseph, Jr. (wife Karen) and great-uncle of Jason, Jacob, Jared, and Kate.

Fr. Paul was born on August 10, 1936 in Cleveland. He attended Cathedral Latin High School then Borromeo Seminary. Fr. Paul studied at St. Gregory Seminary in Cincinnati for 2 years, finished his degree at Borromeo Seminary and was ordained on December 19, 1962. He studied in Rome for 4 years and loved traveling, especially to Florida, Europe and Australia. Fr. Paul enjoyed the Arts, culture and food. He was always positive and joyful with an uplifting spirit. Fr. Paul was giving and selfless. His smile, laughter, singing and quick wit will be dearly missed.

Fr. Paul’s first assignment was as Parochial Vicar of St. Mary, Chardon. ON June 17, 1970 he was transferred to St. Margaret Mary, South Euclid to serve as Parocial Vicar. Fr. Paul was assigned Parochial Vicar of St. William, Euclid on June 30, 1975. In addition Fr. Paul was appointed Director of the St. Julie Billiart Center for Catechetics on June 30, 1975 and served until July 1, 1987. On June 1, 1977 Fr. Paul was transferred to serve as Parochial Vicar of St. Louis, Cleveland Heights. On August 23, 1978 he was assigned Resident Chaplain for Notre Dame Educational Center and Provincial House, Chardon. One June 28, 1979, Fr. Paul was appointed moderator of the Lake-Geauga Chapter of Christ Child Society. In addition Fr. Paul was assigned Administrator of Holy Angels, Chagrin Falls (1987-1988). On December 19, 1994 he was assigned residency and to minister at Notre Dame Educational Center and Provincial House, Chardon. Fr. Paul retired on September 1, 2011. Fr. Paul was a kind and generous preist who faithfully served the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Fr. Paul to The Sisters of Notre Dame 13000 Auburn Rd, Chardon, OH 44024.

All are welcome to attend Vespers on THURSDAY, November 30, 2017 at 3:30 PM at The Sisters of Notre Dame Chapel 13000 Auburn Rd, Chardon, OH 44024 The Most Reverend Roger W. Gries, O.S.B., Presiding. Visitation will follow until 8 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial FRIDAY December 1, 2017 at The Sisters of Notre Dame at 11 AM, The Most Reverend Nelson J. Perez, Presiding.
