NILSSON - Father Richard A., 65, son of the late Gotfred and Catherine Nilsson of Great Neck; 40-years Catholic priest at the Diocese of Rockville Centre, died at our Lady of Consolation in West Islip on Sunday, November 27, 2011. He graduated Fairfield University in 1969 with a major in History. He was ordained by Bishop Walter Kellenberg at St. Agnes Cathedral on May 29, 1971. He is survived by his sister, Gloria Nilsson, of Towanda, PA. Father Nilsson served as assistant pastor in several parishes on Long Island. He was pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Inwood and St. Mary's, Roslyn. Reposing at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Bethpage Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road (1 mile north of Southern State Parkway, Exit 29) on Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM, and Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 PM. The Mass of Transferral will be at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Roslyn, at 7:30PM Wednesday evening. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, GreatNeck, on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Interment at All Saints Cemetery in Great Neck.
