The Rev. Roger Louis Kriege, vicar general and chancellor of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington, died Sunday February 13, 2000 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Hospice in Covington. He was 60.
Rev. Kriege, who was ordained in 1964, had held various positions at churches in Lexington, Covington, Elsmere and Williamstown, and had been assistant director of Marydale Retreat Center in Erlanger and a member of the faculty at St. Henry High School in Elsmere. He was an assistant at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lexington and a member of the Lexington Catholic High School faculty in the 1960s.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Louise Kriege of Bellevue; two brothers, David Kriege of Villa Hills and Gregory Kriege of Alexandria; and two sisters, Kathleen Hill of Villa Hills and Jane Kriege of Bellevue.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the church. Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger is in charge.
