Fr. Thomas G. Montavon died Thursday, 4 January 2024 at his home in Sarasota, Florida. He was born on 10 September 1935. His parents were Paul and Mary Elizabeth (McCormick). He was ordained to the priesthood, for the service of the Diocese of Cleveland, on 20 May 1961 by Bishop L. Floyd Begin in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. After several assignments he was named Pastor of St. Colette, Brunswick on 1 July 1977, where he was the founding pastor and brought life to the plan for a new parish in Brunswick. Fr. Montavon retired on 20 February 2007. He is preceded in death by his siblings Paul (Stella Stansky), John (Nadine Rogers), Sr. Mary Ann HM and Robert (Carolyn Bussan). He is survived by many nieces and nephews. The wake will be held on Friday, January 12 from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at St. Colette Church, 330 W. 130th St., Brunswick, OH 44212. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Bishop Martin J. Amos will be the main celebrant and Father Timothy Gareau will be the homilist. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Northfield.
