We have received word of the death of Timothy Szott, who entered eternal life on Thursday, August 21, 2008, at the age of 61.
A funeral service will be held in Tucson,Arizona, where he died; a memorial Mass will be celebrated locally at St. Regis Parish, 3695 Lincoln Road, Bloomfield Hills, on Wednesday, September 3, at 10 a.m.
He is survived by a brother, Michael, and a sister, Marianne. Condolences may be sent to his sister, Marianne Wieczorek,11617 Spicer Drive, Plymouth, MI 48170.
Ordained a priest on January 20, 1973, Fr. Szottâ’s assignments included: associate pastor of Ascension Parish, Warren; pastor of St. Patrick Parish, WhiteLake, and St. Agatha Parish, Redford; director of the Vocation Office; and pastor of St. Lawrence Parish, Utica. He was removed from active ministry according to the norms of the Dallas Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.
