Fr. Harry Thomas Stout, Jr., 58, of Du Quoin, passed away at 8:15 A.M., Friday, September 18, 2009, at his residence.

Fr. Tom’s grade school was at St. Joseph’s School in Cairo. His high school was Preparatory Seminary at Belleville. He got his college degree from QuincyCollegeand his theologian school was at St. Meinrad School of Theology. He was ordained as a priest on May 28, 1977. The Parishes he had served in were the Cathedral of St. Peter in Belleville, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, St. Clare Catholic Church at O’Fallon, IL, St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church at Waterloo, St. Joseph Catholic Church at Ridgeway, St. John The Baptist Catholic Church at Red Bud, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Du Quoin. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree. He had been a Diocesan CYO moderator, a vocation director, and a Diocesan spiritual director of TEC Program. He was a member of the Priest Senate. He had been a Dean of the West Deanery. He was on the personnel board.
He was born August 9, 1951 at Cairo,IL, the son of Harry Thomas and Sarah Ann (Baudino) Stout.
