The Rev. Tony E. Blaufuss, 78, of Garnet died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at Golden Heights in Garnett.

Rev Tony Balufuss was one of four children of Rose (Hagemann) and Ewald H Blaufuss. He attended St. Johns Minor Seminary in Kansas City MO and St. Thomas Seminary in Denver Colorado. He was ordained a Priest on Dec 20, 1958 in Rome where he studied at Gregorian University in Rome and also the Catholic University in Washington D.C. He completed his Masters Degree in Secondary Education in 1962.  During his 42 years in active ministry, Father Blaufuss has 16 pastoral assignments before retiring July 14, 2000

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Garnett. Burial will follow in St. Teresa’s Catholic Cemetery in Westphalia.
