Reverend Wilfred F. Maloney, Pastor Emeritus, Saint Alphonsus Parish, Maple Glen, died on Monday, August 1, 2022.

Father Maloney was born on February 11, 1930, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late James J. Maloney, and Mabel F. Quigley. Father Maloney attended Roosevelt Public School, Allentown and Central Catholic High School, Allentown, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.

Father Maloney was ordained on May 19, 1955, at The Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia by Most Reverend John F. O’Hara, C.S.C. Father Maloney served as Parochial Vicar, Immaculate Conception Parish, Tremont; Saint Martin of Tours Parish, New Hope; and Holy Spirit Parish, Sharon Hill. He was on the Faculty at Monsignor Bonner High School, Drexel Hill, Cardinal Dougherty High School, Philadelphia; and Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Overbook, Wynnewood. He also served as Principal at Archbishop Prendergast High School for Girls, Drexel Hill and College Professor at Chestnut Hill College. He served as Pastor, Saint Alphonsus Parish, Maple Glen and in 2000 he was named Pastor Emeritus, there. He served as Senior Priest, Holy Innocents Parish, Philadelphia from 2000-2005 before officially retiring..

The Reception of the Body will be held at Saint Philip Neri Church, Philadelphia on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 10:00 AM, followed by a viewing. . Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, D.D. will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor Daniel J. Sullivan, Reverend Edward P. Kuczynski, Reverend Monsignor Donald E. Leighton, and Reverend James M. Oliver will be the homilist.

Burial would take place on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Resurrection Cemetery in Allentown.
